The Brief
The Brief

Zút has worked with LFC Retail for a number of years, producing creative content for their major sales campaigns throughout the Festive season.

Zút was asked to produce a series of adverts for the 2020 festive retail campaign. The video-led Christmas marketing campaign needed to promote gift buying and increase retail and non-retail sales (Memberships, Tours, etc) targeting people in need of gift inspiration.

The Strategy

To Liverpool fans young and old, their team is all-encompassing. Nothing, except for family, is more important than their Club. For many, LFC is part of their everyday life, and something they never switch off from.

Our creative played on this, highlighting three fans, how their club is always at the forefront of their mind and part of their everyday life.

Our strategy was to develop a series of films featuring different fans and player pairings, to release throughout the festive period, supported by a range of digital content and POS assets for the retail stores.

As their minds drifted from their everyday activities, we showed how their club is always at the forefront of their mind and part of their every day.

The campaign, called Bring the Magic Home, was designed to show the bond between the Club and its supporters, with the primary message being: if you know someone with LFC on their mind, give them a gift from LFC.

or many, LFC is part of their everyday life, and something they never switch off from.

The Results

All three videos used special effects to bring a selection of retail products and players to life. The products were carefully placed throughout the films as part of the action, creating a more subtle approach to highlighting the product range.

The first instalment featured Hollywood actor Nick Blood taking a video call in his LFC boxers. In this humourous, relatable scenario, we saw bobble head figures of Klopp, Salah and Mane coming to life through the power of 3D animation.

The second instalment showed a little girl arriving home from school in the lead up to Christmas. As she makes a start on her homework we see everyday items from newspaper articles to pictures on the wall and even her doodlings coming to life through special effects.

In the third instalment we saw an old man returning home from the shop to an empty house, looking lonely. On his journey we see his surprise and amazement as inanimate objects featuring LFC appear to come to life and engage with him.

Just as our concern for him grows, his family arrive to watch the match with him and we see how love of the Club brings families together.

Watch the video above to share in his story and see the results for yourself.
