To support the delivery of their international tourism campaign, named “Buzzing for the Weekend”, Marketing Liverpool commissioned the production of a destination marketing film.
The specific aim for this video is to encourage 18 to 25 year olds from Spain & Portugal to visit Liverpool and surrounding areas for an activity-packed 3-night stay, showcasing a range of attractions and offers tailored to their needs and their budget.
In the video, we follow six friends on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, showcasing their characters and the soul of the places they visit, connecting with the rhythm and pulse of each city’s alternative culture.
We see them in natural, spontaneous, authentic moments in a variety of situations, cut together in a kinetic, vivid edit style, utilising styles and techniques from commercial promotional advertising for the youth market.
We incorporated a mix of camera styles, from 4K cinematography, to Super 8mm, to stop motion, to an ‘Instagram’ mobile phone effect. The overall feeling was to place us directly within the group of friends, as if we are experiencing it ourselves, travelling with them, discovering these places through their eyes.
